Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of music education is based upon building community within a safe and caring environment. An effective classroom community strives to form bonds and personal connections that help students to learn and grow into their fullest potential as musicians, and most importantly, as people. In my music classroom, I share the gift of music to inspire, motivate, and bring students together while always making them feel welcome. I provide students with a creative outlet while also expanding their musical intellect by keeping students focused on the task at hand. Music education is very important because it can impact a student's general outlook on life for the better by showing them the beauty in art and sound. Music vastly improves the life that we live so it is no question that it should be a part of every student's life.

Classroom Management Plan
Being an educator in a music classroom requires courage, persistence and competence. Music educators should teach students how to be human beings as well as provide them with a creative outlet. From day one, I want to emphasize that my music classroom is a place of community, responsibility, and creativity. I believe these three aspects allow for a music classroom to thrive in the most efficient way it can. To build this caring environment, I will establish procedural methods for students to follow on a daily basis. My classroom will be a safe place where students can make music without judgment. They will be free to be themselves and grow into who they are meant to become. In my future music classroom, I will set expand students’ creative boundaries by introducing songs in different languages, letting students lead section rehearsals, and completing listening exercises that challenge the students’ ears. Higher level thinking will be exercised by incorporating different aspects of music including music

Building Community
"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." – Coretta Scott King
Community is an essential aspect of a well run classroom because it brings students together and builds trust between the educator and the students. A focus of community in the classroom leads to positive communication habits, healthy relationships and achieving the task at hand. It also connects different cultures which promotes growth and diversity awareness. In my future classroom, I will build community by encouraging collaboration, allowing feedback from students, and being aware of my students' interests. This will, in turn, create for a classroom dynamic needed for the task of learning, creating, and performing music.
